The process of re-roofing a home is often challenging – from filing the insurance claim, performing the adjuster inspection, obtaining insurance approval, and paying the deductible, to selecting the style and color of shingles. I contacted two roofing companies before calling Shingle Hut. Although each company offered similar pricing and services, My Shingle Hut project manager, Ben’s kindness, and proactive approach to handling insurance mediation were the deciding factors in selecting Shingle Hut to complete my re-roofing project. Ben dealt with the tasks flawlessly. His patience, calm demeanor, and exceptional roofing industry knowledge instilled confidence from our first meeting throughout the post-installation walk-through. While some companies eagerly perform the initial work, they become difficult to reach after they finish the job. This was not the case with Shingle Hut. I asked Ben to stop by to address some minor follow-up issues which he did, and he was just as pleasant to deal with. The Shingle Hut front office staff were also efficient and easy to work with. I highly recommend Shingle Hut for your roofing needs.

Our trampoline crashed into a neighbors roof during a tornado. We contacted Tyler Franklin from Shingle Hut roofing and even though it was Memorial Day weekend, he was able to schedule us for the very next day. The damage was minor, but he understood the owners urgency, and took care of the repairs immediately. He was communicative, gave us fair pricing, and provided great customer service every step of the way. He even came back a second time to make sure the job was to our complete satisfaction. I definitely recommend them for any roofing needs!

Kevin from Shingle Hut was very informative and made the whole process of replacing my roof easy. He was always available to answer questions and assist in anything I needed. They replaced the wood decking where needed on my house and detached garage in one day and paid meticulous attention to detail. Shingle Hut was exceptional. Very timely and job was done to perfection. Their prices were very competitive, and the work that was done exceeded my expectations. Kevin and his team did a phenomenal job re-roofing my house and also added new fascia boards which Carmelo installed and painted, 5 inch seamless gutters, 3 downspouts and a whirlybird on my detached garage. Thank you Carmelo for all your expertise. I absolutely love my Owens Corning Driftwood Tru Duration Architectural roof. Owens Corning comes with a 130 mph wind resistance, which was put to the test 2 days after installation, as we had terrible storms in the area with winds at 110 mph and the roof help up perfectly. Not only does my roof look fantastic, but also provides me with peace of mind. Shingle Hut completely transformed my home with their outstanding service. From the initial consultation with Kevin to the final cleanup, their team was professional, efficient, and incredibly skilled. You can count Kevin and Shingle Hut crew to be honest, fair & prompt. I definitely recommend them. I’m sure you will be pleased with their service.

Roof maintenance is exactly what it sounds like – a system we have put in place to help maintain your roof. If you could extend the life of your biggest investment, why wouldn’t you do it? Shingle Hut offers a free roof inspection to find out if you qualify for roof maintenance. Surprisingly, not all roofs do. Factors such as age and condition play a part in roof maintenance.

A leaky roof can cause extensive, not to mention expensive, damage. Those damages can be even more costly than the price associated with roof maintenance. Leaks can ruin sheetrock, decking, wooden supports, and floors. Repainting your home can get expensive, whether you do it yourself or not. And you certainly don’t want mold to set in.

Our certified project managers will examine the roof for exposed nail heads, cracked or missing sealant, loose or missing flashing, mechanical damage and/or builder’s defects. We will seal any exposed nail heads and all roof accessories as needed. We will also remove and replace up to ten (10) damaged hip and ridge shingles and secure any loose flashing we find.

Absolutely! We have hundreds of 5-STAR customer reviews and would gladly provide customer references if needed.

The most common roofing problems in Cypress, TX, include leaks, wind damage, hail damage, wear and tear, and poor installation. Leaks can occur due to damaged shingles, poor flashing installation, or clogged gutters, while high winds can cause shingles to become loose or even blow off completely, leaving your roof vulnerable to leaks and other damage. Cypress, TX, is known for its occasional hail storms, which can cause significant damage to roofs. Over time, roofs can become worn and damaged due to exposure to the elements. If your roof was installed incorrectly or with subpar materials, you may experience problems down the line. If you suspect any of these common problems or any other issues, it’s important to have it inspected by a professional roofer as soon as possible to prevent further damage and ensure your safety.

In Cypress, it is often possible to perform a roof overlay or re-roofing, which involves installing a new roof over an existing one. This method can offer cost savings by reducing labor costs and minimizing waste generated during the project. However, important factors should be considered before deciding between re-roofing and a full roof replacement. The additional weight of the new roof must be evaluated as it can impact the structural integrity. Moreover, if the existing roof has extensive damage or structural issues, re-roofing may not be suitable. To determine the best approach for your Cypress home, it is recommended to consult with a professional roofing contractor. They will assess the condition of your roof, provide expert advice, and offer estimates while highlighting any potential limitations or disadvantages associated with re-roofing.

Yes, there are local roofing permits and regulations that homeowners and roofing contractors should be aware of in Cypress, Texas. These regulations are in place to ensure the safety, quality, and compliance of roofing projects within the community. The specific requirements may vary depending on the scope of the roofing work, the type of roofing materials used, and other factors. It’s essential to check with the Cypress city government or the appropriate local authorities to determine the exact permitting and regulatory requirements for your roofing project. In some cases, your chosen roofing contractor may be well-versed in local regulations and can assist you in obtaining the necessary permits and ensuring that your roofing project complies with all relevant codes and standards. By following local regulations, you can avoid potential fines or issues that may arise from non-compliance and ensure that your roofing project proceeds smoothly and safely in Cypress, Texas.

In Cypress, TX, there are several types of roofing services offered to residents and businesses. These services include roof repair, which can address issues such as leaks, damaged shingles, and broken flashing. If your roof is beyond repair, a roofing contractor can perform a roof replacement, which involves installing a new roof in place of the old one. Regular roof maintenance is also important to ensure the longevity of your roof, and roofing professionals can provide services such as inspecting the roof for potential issues and performing necessary repairs. Additionally, some roofing contractors in Cypress, TX, may offer roof cleaning services to remove debris and prevent damage to your roof. It’s important to choose a roofing contractor that offers the specific services you need and can provide quality workmanship for your roof.

There are several signs that indicate your roof in Cypress may require repair or replacement. These signs include water stains or damage on the ceiling or walls, indicating a potential leak. Additionally, missing, cracked, or curled shingles suggest the need for repair or replacement. A sagging or uneven roofline may indicate structural damage that requires attention. Excessive granule loss found in gutters or downspouts could imply aging shingles that need replacement. Moreover, a sudden increase in energy bills may be attributed to poor insulation from the roof. If any of these signs or other roof issues are noticed, it is crucial to contact a professional roofing contractor in Cypress promptly. Addressing roof problems early on can prevent more extensive repairs and prolong the lifespan of your roof.

A termite inspection is a crucial step in protecting your property from potential termite damage. Termites are silent and destructive pests that can cause significant structural damage before their presence becomes noticeable. Regular termite inspections by trained professionals can help detect early signs of infestations, allowing for timely intervention to prevent costly damage. By identifying and addressing termite issues early on, you can safeguard your investment and avoid the headache and expense of extensive repairs down the line.

The process of termite inspection and treatment typically involves several steps. First, a qualified pest control professional will conduct a thorough inspection of your property to identify signs of termite activity, including visible damage and mud tubes. If termites are found, the next step is to determine the extent of the infestation. Based on the findings, the pest control expert will recommend a suitable treatment plan, which may involve applying termiticides, setting up bait stations, or using other effective methods. The treatment plan will be tailored to the specific needs of your property to ensure efficient eradication of termites and long-term protection.

The frequency of termite inspections can vary depending on factors like your location, climate, and the history of termite activity in your area. In general, it is recommended to schedule termite inspections annually to proactively monitor for potential infestations. However, if you live in an area with a high risk of termite activity, more frequent inspections may be advisable. Additionally, homeowners should consider scheduling inspections before purchasing a new property to ensure that it is termite-free and to negotiate any necessary treatments as part of the real estate transaction. Regular inspections are a proactive and cost-effective way to protect your home from the costly damage termites can cause.

The lifespan of a roof depends on various factors such as the roofing material, weather conditions, and maintenance. However, in general, a roof can last anywhere from 15 to 50 years. It’s recommended to have your roof inspected regularly by a professional to determine if it needs to be replaced.

There are several signs that your roof may need repair or replacement. Here are some things to look out for:

  1. Age of the roof: The age of your roof is a significant factor in determining whether it needs repair or replacement. Most roofs last between 20 to 25 years, depending on the type of material used. If your roof is approaching or exceeding its lifespan, it’s likely time for a replacement.
  2. Visible damage: Inspect your roof for any visible damage, such as cracked or missing shingles, curled or blistered shingles, or moss or algae growth. These signs may indicate that your roof is no longer functioning correctly and may require repair or replacement.
  3. Water damage: Look for signs of water damage in your attic or ceiling, such as water stains, mold growth, or a musty odor. Water damage can occur due to leaks in the roof, which may require repair or replacement.
  4. Energy efficiency: If you notice an increase in your energy bills, it may be due to an inefficient roof that is not adequately insulating your home. A roof replacement with energy-efficient materials can help lower your energy bills.
  5. Roof sagging: A sagging roof can indicate a structural problem, which requires immediate attention. It can be caused by several factors, such as water damage or a weakened foundation, and may require either repair or replacement.

If you notice any of these signs, it’s essential to contact a professional roofer for an inspection. They can assess the condition of your roof and recommend the best course of action, whether that be a repair or replacement.

The cost of a new roof depends on various factors such as the roofing material, roof size, and complexity of the installation. Contact us to get a free inspection and quote to determine the cost of your new roof installation.

In some cases, it’s possible to install a new roof over an existing one. However, it’s important to consider factors such as the weight of the new roof, the condition of the existing roof, and local building codes before deciding to install a new roof over an existing one.

The time it takes to tear off and replace a roof depends on several factors, including the size and complexity of the roof, the type of materials being used, and the weather conditions. On average, a simple roof replacement for an average-sized home can take anywhere from 1-3 days.  Here is a breakdown of the different stages and the time it may take for each:

  1. Inspection and preparation: We will inspect the existing roof to determine the extent of the damage or wear and prepare the site for the work. This stage may take a day or two, depending on the size and complexity of the roof.
  2. Tear-off: We will remove the old shingles or other materials, which can take anywhere from one to three days depending on the size of the roof and the type of materials being removed.
  3. Repairs and preparation: We will repair any damage to the roof deck or underlying structure, install new underlayment, and prepare the roof for the new materials. This stage may take a day or two.
  4. Installation: We will install the new roofing materials, which can take anywhere from one to five days depending on the type of materials being used, the complexity of the roof design, and the size of the crew.

Clean-up and final inspection: We will remove all debris and clean up the site, ensuring that the work area is safe and clean. This stage may take a day or two.

It’s recommended to have your roof inspected at least once a year by a professional to check for any damage or issues that need to be addressed. You should also have your roof inspected after severe weather events such as hailstorms or heavy winds.

While the cost of a new roof installation can be significant, it can be a good investment for your property in terms of increased value, energy efficiency, curb appeal, and safety. It’s important to work with a reputable roofing contractor to ensure that you choose the right roofing material and installation method for your property’s needs and budget.

The type of roof that is best for a particular building depends on several factors, including the climate, the building’s architecture, the available materials, and the owner’s preferences and budget. Here are some common types of roofs and their advantages:

  1. Asphalt shingles: These are the most common type of roofing material in North America. They are relatively affordable, easy to install, and come in a variety of colors and styles. However, they may not be the best choice in areas with extreme temperature fluctuations.
  2. Metal roofs: Metal roofs are durable, lightweight, and fire-resistant. They come in a variety of materials, including aluminum, copper, and steel, and can last for several decades. However, they may be more expensive than other types of roofs.
  3. Clay or concrete tile roofs: These roofs are popular in warm, dry climates because they are resistant to heat and sun damage. They are also durable and can last for up to 50 years. However, they can be heavy and require a stronger roof structure to support them.
  4. Slate roofs: These are the most durable and long-lasting type of roof, with a lifespan of up to 100 years. They are also fire-resistant and require little maintenance. However, they are heavy and may require a special roof structure to support them.
  5. Green roofs: Green roofs are covered with vegetation, which can provide insulation, absorb rainwater, and improve air quality. They are also aesthetically pleasing and can increase the value of a building. However, they require specialized installation and maintenance and may not be suitable for all climates.

Choosing the right roofing contractor in Cypress, TX, is an important decision to ensure the quality and longevity of your roof. To find the right contractor, it’s important to do your research and consider several factors. First, make sure the contractor is licensed and insured. This will protect you from liability in case of accidents or damages during the roofing project. Additionally, look for a contractor with experience in the type of roofing work you need, whether it’s repairs, replacement, or maintenance. Read reviews and check references from previous clients to get a sense of the contractor’s reliability and workmanship. It’s also a good idea to get multiple quotes from different contractors to compare pricing and services offered. Finally, make sure the contractor provides a written contract that includes details about the scope of work, timeline, and payment terms. By taking these steps, you can choose a roofing contractor in Cypress, TX, who can provide quality work and peace of mind.

To extend the lifespan of your Cypress roof, proper maintenance and care are crucial. Here are some tips to keep your roof in excellent condition: Regularly have your roof inspected by a professional roofing contractor in Cypress to catch any issues early on and receive recommendations for repairs or maintenance. Keep your gutters clean to prevent clogs and backups that can lead to water damage. Trim trees that overhang your roof to prevent damage from falling branches or debris. Address any signs of damage or wear and tear promptly to prevent further issues. Ensure proper ventilation in your attic to prevent moisture buildup and prolong the roof’s lifespan. When it’s time for a roof replacement, choose high-quality materials suitable for your climate and conditions. Finally, work with a reputable roofing contractor in Cypress who has experience with your specific type of roof. By following these tips, you can maximize your roof’s longevity and avoid costly repairs or replacements in the future.

During the roof replacement process, you can expect several key stages. Initially, a roofing contractor will assess the condition of your existing roof and discuss material options and project timelines with you. Once everything is decided, the old roofing material will be removed. The underlying deck will be inspected for damage and repaired if necessary. A new underlayment is then laid down, followed by the new roofing material. Throughout the process, safety precautions will be in place to protect your property and landscaping. Once the new roof is installed, a thorough cleanup and a final inspection will be conducted to ensure the work meets the expected standards.

In Cypress, TX, the typical lifespan of a roof can vary based on the materials used and the local climate conditions. Asphalt shingles, one of the most common materials, usually last between 20 and 25 years, while metal roofs can have a lifespan of 40 to 70 years. Tile and slate roofs have even longer lifespans, often exceeding 50 years. However, the intense Texas sun, occasional hail storms, and other environmental factors can influence the longevity of a roof. Regular maintenance and timely repairs can also extend the lifespan of any roofing system.

In Cypress, homeowners commonly face various roofing problems due to the area’s climate and environmental factors. These issues include roof leaks caused by heavy rainfall, wind damage that dislodges roofing materials during storms, and hail damage leading to punctured shingles and dents in metal roofs. Additionally, roofs may experience wear and tear over time, with cracked shingles, deteriorating flashing, and sagging becoming evident. Poor roof ventilation can trap heat and moisture, potentially accelerating roof aging and causing mold or rot. Furthermore, pest infestations, flashing problems, ice dams during the winter, tree damage, and ponding water on flat roofs are among the other challenges homeowners encounter. To mitigate these problems and avoid costly repairs, regular roof inspections by professional contractors are crucial in Cypress.

Yes, homeowners in Cypress have access to a range of eco-friendly roofing options that promote sustainability and reduce environmental impact. These choices include cool roofs, designed to reflect sunlight and minimize heat absorption for reduced energy consumption. Green roofs offer the advantages of vegetation, improving air quality, and managing stormwater runoff. Solar roofing integrates solar panels into the roof’s surface, enabling the generation of renewable energy. Additionally, using recycled roofing materials, such as metal or rubber shingles, helps decrease waste and conserve resources. Sustainable wood shakes sourced from responsibly managed forests provide a natural and environmentally friendly alternative. Clay or concrete tiles are durable and have a longer lifespan, leading to fewer replacements and less waste. Homeowners can also consider thermoplastic polyolefin (TPO) roofs and energy-efficient coatings to enhance sustainability and energy efficiency. Making an informed choice with the guidance of roofing professionals allows homeowners to select the most suitable eco-friendly roofing option that aligns with their preferences and the Cypress climate.

Yes, roof repairs can indeed contribute to improved energy efficiency in your home in Cypress. A well-maintained and properly repaired roof can help in several ways. Firstly, it ensures that your roof’s insulation remains intact and effective. Proper insulation prevents heat from escaping during the winter months and helps keep your home cooler in the summer, reducing the workload on your HVAC system. Secondly, roof repairs can address any damage or leaks that may allow outdoor air to infiltrate your home, leading to energy loss. By sealing these gaps and ensuring your roof is in good condition, you can maintain a more comfortable indoor temperature and potentially lower your energy bills. Additionally, roof repairs can extend the lifespan of your roofing materials, which can reduce the need for premature roof replacements, further saving you money and reducing environmental impact. If you’re interested in enhancing your home’s energy efficiency through roof repairs, consult with a professional roofing contractor in Cypress who can assess your specific needs and provide tailored solutions.

Ignoring a pest or rodent problem in your home can have several significant risks. Firstly, pests and rodents can carry diseases and contaminate your living spaces, posing health risks to you and your family. They can also cause damage to your property by chewing through wires, insulation, and wooden structures. Left unchecked, a small infestation can quickly multiply, making it more challenging and costly to eradicate later. Additionally, some pests, like termites, can cause structural damage that may compromise the safety and integrity of your home. Lastly, the presence of pests or rodents can negatively affect your quality of life, causing stress and discomfort. Addressing the issue promptly by seeking professional residential pest and rodent control is essential to avoid these risks and maintain a safe, healthy, and pest-free home.
